National Scholarship “Per aspera ad astra”

The National Scholarship “Per aspera ad astra”​ was created by the Cultural Perspectives Foundation by the idea of ​​the opera singer Ina Kancheva and will support young Bulgarian artists in five fields of art – visual arts, literature, music, dance, theater/performance.

The Foundation has made it its mission to discover talented young artists and support those whose personality and potential let us expect exceptional artistic achievements. The foundation’s team looks for candidates suitable for lasting development and whose work would leave indelible marks and set new trends in Bulgarian and global culture.

The support for a person receiving a scholarship is not restricted  to financial funds covering the specific purpose expenses for any given project. Depending on their achievments persons receiving a scholarship may be given further support.

Each scholar in the relevant category will be supported for one year by a mentor – five outstanding personalities and free artists who set standards on the world cultural scene. In 2018 the scholars in the different categories will be advised and encouraged by Nedko Solakov, Georgi Gospodinov, Krasimira Stoyanova, Galina Borissova and Javor Gardev.

Application for the first issue of the “Per Aspera ad Astra” competition will be available in the period between 24 May and 1 September 2018. The results will be announced on 1 November 2018.
